Spoonbridge and Cherry

This is a part of an ongoing project to capture alternative panoramic photographs using Hipstamatic on the iPhone.  I like the challenge of  what-you-take-is-what-you-get with this app.  It’s sort of like shooting on film where there is no easy way to re-construct them after the fact.  This image is the iconic Minneapolis sculpture at the Walker Art Center.

Big Bend National Park, Texas {Nature & Landscape}

It seems only fitting that the first blog post lead off with nature and landscape images from Big Bend National Park, Texas.  It was while I was living and working in this region that I was really able to spend lots of time with my cameras, working on technique and developing what has become the core of my photographic approach.  I’m fascinated with the pieces that form a whole, the mix of details and big picture that help tell the entire story of a place or an event.

These images are from our visit to the Big Bend in March.  We spent time in the Chisos Mountains and South Rim as well as hitting other favorite spots along the western side of the Park.
